UK Footwear Size Guide – Nike, ASICS & Saucony

Finding the right trainer size when shopping online isn't always straightforward. While UK footwear sizes follow a standard system, the way a trainer fits can vary depending on the brand, model and overall shape. At StrideModeUK, we stock some of the biggest names in modern footwear, including Nike, ASICS and Saucony. We've put together this simple UK footwear size guide to make comparing sizes easier and help you choose the right fit before ordering.

Our guide covers UK, EU and CM sizing across all three brands, giving you a useful reference when shopping for your next pair of trainers.

Do Nike, ASICS & Saucony Fit the Same?

Not necessarily.

Two trainers with the same UK size can still feel different when worn. Factors such as the shape of the shoe, width, toe-box space, cushioning and materials can all influence the fit.

As a result, your usual size may feel slightly different depending on the brand or individual model.

Nike

Nike trainers are generally true to size, so your usual UK size is a good starting point.

Some Nike models can have a more streamlined or narrower fit, particularly certain running and performance styles. If you have wider feet or prefer a little extra room, going up half a size may provide a more comfortable fit.

Our recommendation: If you already wear Nike trainers, your usual UK size will generally be the best choice. If you're between sizes or prefer a roomier fit, consider going up half a size.

ASICS

ASICS is well known for comfortable, supportive footwear, with many models offering a more accommodating fit around the toe area.

Most ASICS trainers are true to size, although the fit can vary between individual models. Their cushioning and structured construction can also make them feel different compared with Nike trainers in the same UK size.

Our recommendation: Start with your usual UK size. If you have wider feet, many ASICS models can offer a comfortable fit without necessarily needing to size up.

Saucony

Saucony has become increasingly popular for both performance footwear and modern everyday trainers.

Saucony trainers are generally true to size, with many models providing comfortable space around the toes. However, individual styles can vary, so it's always worth checking the specific product information before ordering.

Our recommendation: Your usual UK size is generally the best place to start. If you're between sizes, consider the shape and fit of the particular model before deciding whether to size up.

How to Find Your Perfect Size

For the most accurate result, we recommend measuring your feet rather than simply choosing the same size you wear in another brand.

1. Measure Your Feet

Stand on a flat surface with your heel against a wall. Measure from the back of your heel to the tip of your longest toe.

2. Measure Both Feet

It's completely normal for one foot to be slightly larger than the other. Use the measurement of your longer foot when selecting your size.

3. Check the Brand's Size Guide

Compare your foot measurement with the relevant Nike, ASICS or Saucony size chart rather than assuming the same size will fit identically across every brand.

4. Consider Your Preferred Fit

If you're between sizes, think about whether you prefer a snug or more relaxed fit. Your choice may also depend on the specific trainer and how you plan to wear it.

Our Top Tip

If you've previously owned the same trainer model and know which size works for you, sticking with that size is usually the safest option.

If you're trying a new model or brand for the first time, measure your feet and check the relevant manufacturer's size chart. This is one of the best ways to reduce the risk of ordering the wrong size.

Please Note

Our footwear size guide is intended as a general reference. Sizing and fit can vary between brands, individual models and different trainer silhouettes.

For the most accurate fit, we recommend measuring your feet and comparing your measurements with the relevant manufacturer's sizing information before placing your order.
